“Would you like to get a job in the EU?”  – The predominant majority of EULP students said – yes! Prof. Iryna Biskub outlined the main European Commission’s initiatives directed towards encouraging people to learn more foreign languages. The knowledge of foreign languages and intercultural communication skills is considered a distinct plus for employers. Graduates with the knowledge of foreign languages fare much better on the job market.

Three portfolios of the EU jobs related to the knowledge of foreign languages were represented – 1) the translator for the European Commission, 2) EU External Relations Expert, and 3) Lawyer-Linguist.

It was an open lecture, and it was attended by the Vice-Rectore for European Union Integration and Work with Students Anna Danylchuk, the Dean of the Foreign Languages Faculty Oksana Rogach, and many Applied Linguistics’ lecturers.
